Nany was a Colombian model who settled in Mexico City aiming, in the future, for the United States market. Because of her height of 1.68m, she didn't work on runways but rather in photo shoots and brand promotion at various events.
Her death after falling from the terrace of the building where she lived in the middle of the night, following an event, was never fully clarified by the Mexican authorities. Murder, suicide, or accident were always considered. The last hypothesis ended up being the one adopted because videos from the previous event she attended show that she was likely in an altered state from hallucinogenic drug use during the party.
Several issues, including the fact that the angle of his fall wasn't compatible with an accidental fall, were never really clarified.
Suspicions that she was caught up in a human trafficking ring grew when, just a few weeks after her death, a hideout with more than 10 Latina women was busted by the local police only a few blocks from where she lived.
