About Uschi Digard

Uschi Digard, born Ursula Berneda (August 15, 1948), in Switzerland to a Swiss mother and Swedish father, was a softcore pornographic actress and pin-up model active from 1968 to 1982. Raised in a strict Swiss convent boarding school, she developed a love for languages, becoming fluent in German, French, Italian, Swedish, Spanish, and English, and worked as a translator in the jewelry trade in London, the Canary Islands, and California. Digard was long believed to be Swedish and the Swedish Film Institute tentatively accepts this, while acknowledging that there are other possibilities. Her 2013 interview, however, suggests that her connection with the country is slight. She says she lived there "for three years" in the sixties when her husband had a show on Swedish television, but her chronology implies a shorter period, approximately summer 1967 to autumn 1968.

Moving to the U.S. in 1968, she became a prominent big-bust model in magazines like Knight, Cinema X, and Gent, and debuted in sexploitation films with an uncredited role in The Kill (1968). Known for her 44-26-35 figure, tanned skin, and roles in Russ Meyer’s Cherry, Harry & Raquel! (1970), Supervixens (1975), and Beneath the Valley of the Ultra-Vixens (1979, also co-producer), she starred in over 80 softcore films and erotic loops, including wrestling shorts like Battle of the Bosoms (1980) with Candy Samples, per Wikipedia and IAFD. She says she got her deep tan from constant sunbathing after moving to Florida.

She was among the best known big bust models in the late-1960s and 1970s. Her film roles toward the end of this period occurred at an interesting time in the porn industry as films transitioned from softcore to formulaic, minimal plot hardcore. Many of these movies had well-developed and bizarre plots such as the cult film Ilsa, She-Wolf of the SS or Female Chauvinists in which Uschi and a gang of lesbians rob a sylvan sperm bank in a surreal dream scene.

She never did hardcore pornography, per IMDb and according to Digard herself in her 2013 interview. The XXX-rated movies she appeared either had hardcore scenes from loops added in with softcore footage of Digard, or she simply simulated the sex. This has led to some confusion with fans believing she had done hardcore.

Fans called her “a busty legend,” praising her Supervixens role (comment: “Uschi’s curves are iconic,” user: LILTony1961). A 2024 X post noted, “Cherry, Harry & Raquel! showcases Uschi’s massive boobs” (@RetroPornFan). AVN (2006) described her as “a softcore star with Amazonian allure.” Russ Meyer, in Playboy (1985), said, “Uschi worked harder than any girl in the business.” The Rialto Report (2013) lauded her “linguistic talent and larger-than-life presence,” cementing her as a 1970s sexploitation icon.

Retiring in 1982, she married her long-time partner, musician “Ron,” met in the Canary Islands, and lived in Palm Springs and North Hollywood. Her most mainstream appearance is considered to be in John Landis' 1977's The Kentucky Fried Movie as Woman in Shower in the segment "Catholic High School Girls in Trouble". No children or awards are documented, and her net worth is not estimated. As of July 25, 2025, Digard, likely 76, lives privately with no social media presence, her work enduring in cult cinema circles.
