About Lisa Loeb

Lisa Anne Loeb is an American singer-songwriter, producer, touring musician, actor, author, radio host, entrepreneur, and philanthropist whose literate folk-pop style made her one of the defining alternative-pop voices of the 1990s. Raised in Dallas, Texas, Loeb studied at Brown University and developed her early musical identity through campus performances and the duo Liz and Lisa before moving into the New York singer-songwriter scene. Her breakthrough came with “Stay (I Missed You),” from the 1994 film Reality Bites, which became a platinum-selling No. 1 hit and made her the first unsigned artist to top the U.S. charts.

Loeb followed that success with albums including Tails and Firecracker, along with songs such as “Do You Sleep?” and “I Do.” Over time, she expanded her career beyond adult pop into children’s music, books, acting, eyewear, philanthropy, and broadcasting. Her family album Feel What U Feel won the 2018 Grammy Award for Best Children’s Album, underscoring her ability to build a long, varied career while retaining the warmth, intelligence, and melodic directness that first made “Stay” so memorable.
