Kathy, from Colorado, wanted to have a professional modelling career. She posed for companies such as Kohl’s and Champion, as well as competing and being runner-up in the Miss Teen Colorado pageant in 2012. A year later, she left school at 18, wanting to focus on her modelling career.
In 2013, she saw an advertisement on Craigslist offering a paid modelling opportunity, with expenses paid such as flying her out to San Diego. Rather than the mere headshots and clothing photoshoot that she had agreed to fly to San Diego to do, the makers of Girls Do Porn began demanding that she film nude and sexually explicit videos. When she refused, Girls Do Porn immediately pressured her and plied her with booze and pills to soften her reluctance. Girls Do Porn harassed her over text after she returned to college, to make more videos and threatened to make her original video public if she refused.
In January 2014 her videos began to go live on Twitter, PornHub and other pornography websites. One of her videos was the second most watched video on PornHub, with over 300 million views.The fallout from the videos included; Kathy losing her modelling career, her Miss Teen Colorado Title, her college years, her name (she had to change it), her career path, her friends and her family.
In 2016 an investigation began into Girls Do Porn, and in 2019 the principals were charged with federal charges of sex trafficking by force, fraud, and coercion. Some principals of the company have been sentenced to 20+ years in federal prison, while the trials for others are ongoing.
