About Cat Deeley

Catherine Elizabeth “Cat” Deeley (born October 23, 1976) is an English television presenter, model, actress, and producer whose career has included major television roles in both the United Kingdom and the United States. Born in Sutton Coldfield, Birmingham, Deeley began modeling as a teenager before moving into television presenting. She became widely known in Britain in the late 1990s as a presenter of the children’s program SM:TV Live alongside Ant & Dec and the music show CD:UK, establishing herself as a popular live-television host.

Deeley achieved broader international recognition after moving into American television and becoming host of Fox’s So You Think You Can Dance in 2006, a role she continued for most of the program’s run through 2024. Her work on the series earned her five Primetime Emmy Award nominations for Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program, as well as Critics’ Choice Television Awards for Best Reality Host. She has also worked as an entertainment correspondent, hosted numerous specials and awards programs, and made occasional acting appearances, including in the Hulu comedy Deadbeat.

In 2024, Deeley returned to a prominent role on British television as co-presenter of ITV’s long-running daytime program This Morning alongside Ben Shephard, a position she continues to hold in 2026. Her career, spanning children’s television, music programming, reality competition, entertainment reporting, and daytime television, has made her a familiar television personality on both sides of the Atlantic.
