Ethnicity Options Are Too Limited and U.S.-Centric and Lacks Accurate Ethnicity Representation
I want to flag an issue regarding the current ethnicity options available in the profile editor. Right now, the list is extremely limited and very U.S.-centric, and it doesn’t reflect the actual diversity of the people featured on Babepedia. It also relies on outdated terminology and stereotypes, which is disappointing to see in 2026. The overall structure feels like it wasn’t researched or built with real-world accuracy in mind.
For example, “Native American” is listed, but there is no equivalent for Indigenous Canadians — First Nations, Inuit, or Métis. There’s no representation for Pacific Islanders, South Asian groups, Afro-Caribbean identities, or many other globally recognized ethnic categories. The current list feels like it was created without consultation or consideration for accuracy or respect. It’s surprising to see a global platform using such a narrow list in 2026.
The ethnicity field should reflect global diversity — not just a narrow Americanized subset. I’m asking that this be treated as a priority and updated with a properly researched, inclusive, and respectful list of ethnicities. This would not only improve accuracy across the site but also demonstrate respect for the individuals whose profiles are being maintained.
I hope this can be addressed soon and with the seriousness it deserves.
