"BBW" and "Chubby" does not describe well certain body types. Especially Latina and ebony types. Please consider adding "curvy". It is widely used also in the fashion industry.
I don't think "curvy" falls to average. Average means what it means. A body type where most of the female bodies would fall.
The Waist-hip ratio for the average type is moderate and more balanced. For curvy there is a pronounced difference, typically with a smaller waist and wider hips/bust. The overall shape for the curvy is hourglass or rounded, a voluptuous figure. For the average it is again more proportional, balanced, and natural-looking (average looking). The body fat is also greater in the curvy figure compared to average.
All in all curvy, is anything but average. It is more wide-spread amongst Latina or ebony girls, but definitely is beyond average. You can easily check by a quick search on the internet on the topic. Even BBW is closer to curvy. Curvy is used also in the fashion business.
Hm.. 'Kerekp' I share ur sentiment, at least in part. As I too would like to see Babepedia (& Boobpedia for that matter) refine their 'body types (ie body shapes)' a bit more. Note: What U seem to referencing & describing as 'Curvy' seems to be more so the 'Pear' body shape, Which I agree is or at least seems to be highly visible amongst the Latina &/or Afro-centric women in America & around the world. - However I also share the sentiment of other commentors in as far as "Where's line between 'curvy', phat/thicc, & just plain fat/round? -- In my PoV BBW encapsulates the 'bigger/thicker' hourglass/pear-shaped beauties just fine, & does so w/o alienating those whose bodies no longer match the expected norm...regardless. - Although, in context to 'Curvy vs 'Avg' I personally like the 'Thick' moniker better for the type of babe U were describing previously, as it's both culturally and aesthetically accurate in my Opinion. My basic perception = She's got a 'Thicker than typical', Generously Curvy Figure... meaning HER Curves go ') (' not out '( )' regardless of size/thickness. For tbh 'Curvy' to me means HER Curves go inward, or ') ( ' regardless of body type & isn't or shouldn't be used as 'polite-speak' in place of Fat/Obese which in my Pov, means 'She's pretty cute but has let herself go, given her body has grown into a more '( )' shape. -- When I was 18-20 (circa 2000-2002), 'Curvy was (or seemed to be) nearly universally understood to be in direct contrast to 'Box/Rectangle' body shape. What's now more popularly called an 'Athletic' body type. -- Truth is... Beauty is & will always be "in the eye of the beholder", as will be "the lenses thru which each of Us view or enjoy those we find beautiful". So I state again.... That in the Absence of "'Thick"... "BBW" perfectly encapsulates the 'Thicker Hourglass/Pear-shaped' Babes just fine for me...all things considered. --- Its that "Avg" moniker, that annoys me most, & deserves more attention as Avg like 'Normal' is literally and figuratively - Relative - but that's for another time.. lol.
