About Sirpa Lane
Sirpa Lane, born Sirpa Salo was a Finnish actress known for her work in B-movies of the 1970s, primarily erotic and exploitation films. Lane was discovered by British photographer and film-maker David Hamilton, who was known for his soft focus and grainy style erotica. She worked with Roger Vadim, who spoke of her as the "next Bardot". She died of HIV/AIDS.
Sirpa made her film debut in the English film Fluff (1974) and quickly became known for her work in B-movies, especially in the erotic genre. Some of her notable films include Papaya: Love Goddess of the Cannibals (1978) and Le notti segrete di Lucrezia Borgia (1982).
Lane's career was marked by her participation in various controversial films that often pushed the boundaries of eroticism. She starred in The Beast (1974), directed by Walerian Borowczyk, which became a cult classic due to its explicit content. Throughout the late 1970s and 1980s, she appeared in numerous films, primarily in Europe, and became a recognizable figure in the genre.
