About Sarah Cracknell
Sarah Cracknell is an English singer-songwriter and lead singer of the electronic music band Saint Etienne. After two singles with other vocalists, Cracknell became the band's permanent lead singer during the recording of their 1991 debut album Foxbase Alpha, which introduced Saint Etienne's signature blend of 60s-inspired dance music and 80s synthpop. Saint Etienne emerged alongside Britpop and trip hop and shared some attributes with those styles but was distinct from either.
Cracknell has also maintained an occasional solo career during her time with Saint Etienne, although it has not received the same amount of attention as her work with the band.
