About Patricia Paay
From the age of twelve, she took piano and ballet lessons. Her father's sister, Telma, sang in his band, 'The Evergreens'. At the age of fifteen, Patricia said: "I want to do what Aunt Telma does." She made her debut in The Evergreens in 1965. However, the labor inspectorate did not allow her to sing in clubs and cafes. She was, however, permitted to perform on radio and television. She made her television debut in 1966. On the very first broadcast night of the TROS, she had her own 20-minute special titled "Patricia Sings".
