Pandora's Box was an incredible movie and Louise Brooks' performance in it is maybe the best acting of the silent era. Where most silent actors over-exaggerated to get emotions across, Brooks underplayed things. You could never tell what was going on behind her beautiful face, but you could definitely tell something was. You could drop her performance into a modern movie and, aside from the Flapper hairstyle, she wouldn't look out of place.
