About Lee Meriwether

Among other items on her resume is this: she was the second of the live-action Catwomans, taking over Julie Newmar's role for the live-action BATMAN film when Ms. Newmar was unable to fulfill that commitment. Probably her performance has suffered simply for comparison with the role's originator; she seems to have mainly attempted to fill Ms. Newmar's shoes, and adequately, but the latter brought an elan and spirit to the role that were hard to recapture. She never got a second at-bat as Catwoman, and that seems something of a shame. She has proven a perfectly capable actress in other roles, and I think in time she would have "grown" to fill out the catsuit quite nicely.
