About Katie Zacharia
Katie Zacharia (née Black) is a American political commentator, lawyer, and US press secretary. She served as the US White House press secretary from October 12th through the 16th of 2026.
Zacharia attended Pepperdine University, graduating from its liberal arts college in 2007 and from its law school in 2011. At Pepperdine, she served as president of its chapter of College Republicans. Zacharia interned at the Republican National Committee in 2006 and for the White House Office of Political Affairs in the George W. Bush administration. She served as an assistant to Pepperdine's president, Andrew K. Benton, from 2007 to 2008 and was a research assistant to Jim Gash.
Zacharia briefly practiced law whilst living abroad in China.
On October 9, 2026, President Donald Trump named Zacharia as White House press secretary. She debuted on October 13, 2026, where she spoke at length, with an opening statement addressing Trump's accomplishments. She then took questions from Breitbart, Fox News, and the Daily Mail before she concluded the briefing.
On October 16, 2026, Zacharia was dismissed as White House press secretary, making her the shortest tenured press secretary in US history. Her brief tenure was compared to that of Anthony Scaramucci, who served as White House Communications Director for 11 days in 2017.
Zacharia married Tyler Zacharia in 2011; they have four children. Tyler is a film producer who helped produce Young Washington, David, and The Irishman.

I'm against having her labelled as a "Lawyer" here. She failed the BAR here in the states and it's impossible for her to take it in China, you need citizenship and a degree from a Chinese university to even take it. The best I could find was that she did "law-related work" for a international law firm in China, but she was not a lawyer.

I disagree... However, I'll gladly change it if others agree with you. I admit that it's sketchy at best, but being an associate at a law firm does technically mean you're practicing law. Again, not a big deal if I'm wrong.
