About Katelyn Tuohy

Katelyn Tuohy is an American professional distance runner who specializes in middle- and long-distance events, particularly the 1,500 meters, 3,000 meters, and 5,000 meters. Born in 2002 in New York, she gained national recognition as one of the most accomplished high school distance runners in U.S. history before continuing her career at North Carolina State University.

During her collegiate career, Tuohy won multiple NCAA championships in cross country and track and field, earning numerous All-American honors while helping NC State establish itself as one of the nation's premier distance-running programs. She won the NCAA Division I Women's Cross Country Championship in 2023 and captured NCAA titles in the indoor 3,000 meters and outdoor 5,000 meters.

Following her successful collegiate career, Tuohy turned professional and signed with Adidas. She trains as part of Adidas' professional distance-running program.

Her personal bests include 14:45.12 for 5,000 meters, 8:35.20 for 3,000 meters, and 4:23.46 for 1,500 meters, performances that rank among the fastest ever by an American collegiate runner and place her among the leading American distance runners of her generation.
