About Elly Henes

Elly Henes is an American professional distance runner who specializes in the 5,000 meters and 10,000 meters. Born in North Carolina in 1998, she emerged as one of the top collegiate distance runners in the United States while competing for North Carolina State University.

During her collegiate career, Henes won the 2021 NCAA outdoor 5,000-meter championship and earned 10 NCAA All-American honors along with six ACC championships. She was also named ACC Women's Cross Country Runner of the Year in 2019 after capturing both the ACC and NCAA Southeast Regional titles.

Following her successful college career, Henes turned professional with Adidas and trains in Flagstaff, Arizona.

Her personal bests include 14:47.15 for 5,000 meters and 30:48.26 for 10,000 meters, performances that place her among the top American distance runners of her generation.
