Karen Lancaume, born Karine Bach on January 19, 1973, in the suburbs of Lyon, France, grew up in a wealthy family with a French Catholic father and Moroccan Muslim mother.
She spent her childhood in the Lyon countryside and studied communications at university, working weekends at a nightclub to fund her education.
