Jorja Alice Smith is an English singer-songwriter born in Walsall, West Midlands, on June 11, 1997. Raised by a Jamaican father and an English mother, she trained in classical singing and relocated to London in her late teens to pursue music full-time. 

Her music discography and hit singles launched with her viral 2016 debut track "Blue Lights." She gained international fame collaborating with Drake on his "More Life" project in 2017 and released her hit single "On My Mind" the same year. Her debut studio album, "Lost and Found" (2018), peaked at number three in the United Kingdom and earned her a Brit Award and a Grammy nomination for Best New Artist. She followed this success with the hit single "Be Honest" in 2019 and released her sophomore studio album, "Falling or Flying," in 2023. Her subsequent musical releases include the electronic-soul studio album "What Are the Odds" in 2026. 

Her film and television biography focuses on major soundtrack contributions and musical broadcasts. She wrote and performed the track "I Am" for the Marvel Studios blockbuster film "Black Panther" in 2018. On television, she has performed as herself on numerous late-night programs, including a live musical guest appearance on "Saturday Night Live UK" in 2026.
