About Georgia Ellenwood
Georgia Ellenwood was born August 5, 1995, in Vancouver, British Columbia, and grew up in Langley, B.C. She began competing in track and field at age eight and quickly emerged as one of Canada's promising multi-event athletes. Ellenwood attended the University of Wisconsin, where she became an eight-time NCAA All-American and established school records in both the heptathlon and pentathlon. In 2018, she won the NCAA heptathlon title, the Pan American Combined Events Cup, and the Canadian Championships, and was named Big Ten Field Athlete of the Year.
Her international career includes appearances at multiple World Athletics championships, the Pan American Games, and the 2015 Universiade. Her biggest achievement came with her Olympic debut at the Tokyo 2020 Olympics, where she placed 20th in the women's heptathlon and recorded a personal best in the high jump during the competition.
Outside athletics, Ellenwood graduated from Wisconsin in 2018 with a degree in sociology. She has expressed interests in human behavior, marketing, and public relations, and enjoys painting, hiking, longboarding, and spending time outdoors in British Columbia.
