Gabrielle Monique Union-Wade is an American actress, producer, and author born in Omaha, Nebraska, on October 29, 1972, and raised in Pleasanton, California. She earned a sociology degree from UCLA, where she began modeling to pay off college loans before transitioning to acting in the mid-1990s.

Her extensive acting credits began with guest roles on hit sitcoms like "Moesha" and "Sister, Sister", followed by memorable turns in 1999 teen films like "She's All That" and "10 Things I Hate About You". She achieved mainstream stardom as the cheer captain Isis in the cult classic "Bring It On" in 2000. Union went on to star in major films like "Bad Boys II" (2003), "Deliver Us from Eva" (2003), "Think Like a Man" (2012), and the critically acclaimed indie drama "The Inspection" (2022). On television, she earned multiple awards leading the hit drama series "Being Mary Jane" from 2013 to 2019.

While she does not have a traditional music career, she starred as the lead romantic interest in major music videos during the 2000s, including LL Cool J's "Paradise" and Busta Rhymes' "I Love My Bitch". Beyond her screen work, she is a best-selling author of two memoirs and is married to retired NBA star Dwyane Wade, with whom she shares a daughter alongside her three stepchildren.
