About Erika Lust
Born Erika Hallqvist in Stockholm, Sweden (1977), Lust developed a passion for film and theater early on. She studied Political Science at Lund University, specializing in feminism and human rights. A pivotal moment came when she read Linda Williams’ Hard Core: Power, Pleasure, and the "Frenzy of the Visible" (1989), which shaped her future work. After graduating in 1999, she moved to Barcelona in 2000 to study filmmaking.
