Manuelle "Emma" Daumas, is a French singer-songwriter and performer, who was born on November 23rd, 1983, in Avignon.
She is particularly well known for her participation in 2002, in the second season of the musical reality TV show "Star Academy", on the French mainstream channel TF1.
On December 2, 2003, she released her first album, "Le Saut de l'ange."
The album, featuring several of her own compositions, with pop-rock overtones, was well-received by critics and went gold.
On February 17, 2004, the album's title track, "Tu seras" (pop-rock musical style), was released as a single.
It was an immediate success, selling over 300,000 copies.
She is nickname by press, "The French Avril Lavigne".
