About Elvira Savino
Elvira Savino, born on 6 June 1977 in Castellana Grotte, Italy, is an Italian politician. She currently resides in Naples.
Savino began her political involvement early, running for local office in Conversano (Bari) at the age of 18 with the Communist Refoundation Party. She graduated in Economics and Commerce from the University of Bari in 2003, specializing in economic policy. That same year, she completed a course in continuous improvement of business processes, focusing on excellence models and ethical leadership at the Bari Chamber of Commerce, and later earned a master’s in European Public Relations from Ateneo Impresa Spa in Rome.
Her early career included work in ICT and new media as a project manager assistant for Business International (Fazi Editore Group), and roles in press and communications for the UDC party. She also worked with Rai New Media and contributed to the editorial project Formiche.
Savino was elected to the Italian Chamber of Deputies with The People of Freedom party during the XVI and XVII legislatures, serving as Forza Italia’s group leader in the XIV Committee on European Union Policies. After the suspension of The People of Freedom in 2013, she joined Forza Italia. She was re-elected in the 2018 parliamentary elections for the Puglia constituency but was not a candidate in the 2022 elections.
In her personal life, Savino married entrepreneur Ivan Campili in 2008, with Silvio Berlusconi as a witness, and they have a son, Giovanni. Following their separation, she has been in a relationship with Alessandro Moggi, son of Luciano Moggi, former general manager of Juventus.
