Elizabeth is a London, UK-based actress. She was born Paris, France. Her parents, a Polish father and an Australian mother of Irish descent, were both professional ballet dancers. When she was five years old, the family relocated to Melbourne, Australia, where she grew up alongside a younger sister and brother.
She initially trained in dance and ballet from a young age, but her exceptional height—nearly 6 feet 3 inches—made a professional career in ballet unlikely. She pivoted to acting during her school years, excelling in drama and earning a degree from the Victorian College of the Arts at the University of Melbourne in 2010.
Her breakthrough came in 2013 with Baz Luhrmann’s lavish adaptation of The Great Gatsby, where she portrayed Jordan Baker opposite Leonardo DiCaprio. The role earned her an AACTA Award for Best Supporting Actress and launched her international career. Debicki has since built a versatile portfolio across film, television, and stage, appearing in projects like The Night Manager, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 (as Ayesha), and Tenet.
Elizabethi received widespread critical praise and award recognition for her portrayal of Princess Diana in the final two seasons of Netflix’s The Crown (2022–2023).
