Truly one of the most beautiful actresses of all time, and incredibly talented - she was nominated for the Oscar three times. She never really became a superstar because she was more of a character actor with the face and body of a leading lady, so she never really developed a consistent on-screen persona that people could latch onto to make her a Movie Star, and her offscreen life was low-key and normal, so the movie magazines didn't write much about her. Nowadays, she's mostly remembered for playing the rejected Baroness in The Sound of Music, leading generations of movie watchers to ask "What the hell, Captain von Trapp?" because sure, Julie Andrews was a nice young lady, but FFS - he passed on Eleanor Parker????
