About Danielle Haim
Danielle Sari Haim (born February 16, 1989) is an American musician, singer-songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer best known as the lead vocalist and lead guitarist of the rock band HAIM, which she formed with her sisters Este Haim and Alana Haim. Raised in the San Fernando Valley in a musical family, the sisters performed from childhood with their parents in the family cover band Rockinhaim. Danielle developed into an accomplished guitarist and, before HAIM became her primary focus, toured professionally with Jenny Lewis and Julian Casablancas and briefly played with CeeLo Green’s backing band.
HAIM emerged internationally after releasing its Forever EP in 2012 and winning the BBC Sound of 2013 poll. The group’s debut album, Days Are Gone, reached No. 1 in the United Kingdom and was followed by Something to Tell You and the critically acclaimed Women in Music Pt. III, which earned a Grammy nomination for Album of the Year. Danielle serves not only as the group’s principal lead singer and guitarist but also plays drums and other instruments in the studio and has taken an increasingly prominent role in production; she was a producer on both Women in Music Pt. III and HAIM’s 2025 fourth album, I quit.
Through HAIM, Danielle has helped develop a distinctive sound drawing on classic rock, folk, pop, and R&B while maintaining the sisters’ emphasis on live musicianship and vocal harmonies. The band has received multiple Grammy nominations, including Best New Artist, Album of the Year, and, most recently, Best Rock Album for I quit.
