Cara Gee is a Canadian actress who has starred in various film, television, and stage productions. She is best known for her roles as Kat Loving in the CBC drama series Strange Empire and Camina Drummer in the Amazon sci-fi series The Expanse. She is also one of the most prominent indigenous women in the entertainment industry, according to Forbes.

Gee made her film debut in 2013 with Empire of Dirt, a drama about three generations of First Nations women struggling with their identity and heritage. She received a Canadian Screen Award nomination for Best Actress for her portrayal of Lena Mahikan, a single mother trying to reconnect with her estranged family. She also won a Special Jury award at the Toronto International Film Festival and an award for Best Actress at the American Indian Film Festival for this role. In the same year, she was named one of the festival’s Rising Stars.

In 2016, Gee joined the cast of The Expanse, a popular sci-fi series based on the novels by James S. A. Corey. She plays Camina Drummer, a Belter leader who commands a faction of the Outer Planets Alliance (OPA), a rebel group fighting for the rights and autonomy of the people living in the asteroid belt and beyond. Gee’s character is a fan favorite and has been described as “a badass space pirate” by Entertainment Weekly. She also voiced her character in The Expanse: A Telltale Series, a video game adaptation of the show.
