It is a much better metric and not prone to wide swings on models with just a few votes.

Favorites also still take in account banned accounts, when votes don't.

@wpgoar: You're wrong here. Deleted accounts are ignored in the ranking system.
Votes older than 5 years or those cast by users with unnatural voting patterns are also ignored.

Oh okay, didn't know about 5 years, it is for inactive accounts i guess? Maybe is too much time but that's all your decision. And it's out of the topic here now

Sorry, that wasn't correct. I just verified how it works: Votes from users not seen in the last 4 years (not 5) are ignored.

Oh that makes more sense, maybe 3 years now by how active looks compared to before can be a a fine change but not like a high priority one, compared to others already posted here.
