People seem to like this idea, so let's discuss it. Who has some good ideas?
Here is one proposal: an endless, quick-vote page that shows two models from a curated top 5,000 pool side by side, and visitors simply pick their favorite, then immediately get a new matchup. This would be separate from the main 10-star rankings and would create its own global Battle leaderboard, plus a personal leaderboard for each visitor once they’ve voted enough times to show meaningful favorites.
Under the hood, we could use an ELO-style system: every model starts with a battle score, and each win/loss moves that score up or down depending on the opponent. Beating a highly ranked model would count more than beating a lower-ranked one, while losing to a strong opponent would hurt less. This should make the leaderboard fairer than simply counting total wins, because it rewards meaningful head-to-head results rather than just whoever gets shown the most.
Something similar to this already exists on another site, the aptly-named BabesRater: https://babesrater.com/rate-pictures I don’t think it’s really needed here. It would probably lead to a lot more arguments of the like that we already get in the Comments to the effect of “I can’t believe that [fill in the blank] is in the top ten!” Attractiveness is such a matter of personal taste already, a vote would just invite more conflict. But that’s just my opinion. 😇
Unfortunately, Babesrater's "rate pictures" page is hidden behind a login page, and registration seems to be disabled. Can you describe it or do you have another example?
Basically, two random photos are shown, with a headline that reads, “which babe is hotter?” You click on your selection, and it provides two new options. In the lefthand column, it shows the results of your last four votes, and the average rating for each photo on a ten-point scale. I confess I’m not sure how the ratings are calculated based on head-to-head voting. Clicking on the images in the results columns takes you to the gallery page for the image; from there, you can navigate to the model’s main page and so on. If you’re unable orr unwilling to choose between the two images, you can refresh the page and it reloads with two new images.
Near as I can tell. It’s definitely a contest between two photos, not really two women (I haven’t ever seen two photos of the same woman in one contest, tho). BabesRater seems a lot less discriminate about the photos they allow, so sometimes there are truly awful pictures of otherwise truly beautiful women (it’s kind of why I migrated from there to here, although I occasionally go back there when the mood hits me).
This is quite similar to an idea I suggested on the old forum. At the time, however, it did not gain much traction. Now it seems that many people are in favor of the idea. It’s a nice proposal, and personally, I have no problem with it at all.
