About Valeria Barquera
Valeria Barquera Macías is a Mexican television host, model and former beauty queen from Torreón, Coahuila. She is best known as the co-anchor of Telediario, the morning news program on Multimedios Canal 6, alongside Ángel Carrillo.
Barquera began her career in media as a hobby. At age 13, she started participating in fashion shows after being selected as a finalist in a national lingerie campaign, which earned her a scholarship to Televisa's acting school, CEA, with Eugenio Cobo. Although she did not complete her studies there due to her young age, the experience sparked her interest in pursuing a career in media.
She studied Business Administration at the TecMilenio university. At age 19, she won the Señorita Bicentenario title at the Feria de Torreón, which led her to compete in Nuestra Belleza Coahuila, where she placed second. These pageant experiences opened doors to opportunities in television and modeling.
Barquera worked for six years at a media company before transitioning to office work related to her degree. She later returned to broadcasting when Multimedios invited her to join their news team. She has been with the company for over five years, hosting the morning news program, which requires her to wake up at 4:00 AM daily.
In addition to her television career, Barquera is a mother and maintains an active social media presence with over 155,000 followers on Instagram. She has also worked as a weather presenter on Bellezas TVMX and runs her own YouTube channel.
