Tove Ågren is a Swedish aerospace engineer known for her work in flight dynamics and planetary exploration. Originally from Falun, Sweden, she completed her Master of Science in Applied and Computational Mathematics at KTH Royal Institute of Technology in 2022. Her academic background combines engineering physics with a focus on data science, including areas such as Bayesian statistics, partial differential equations, and machine learning.
After graduating, she joined NASA Ames Research Center in California, where she works on the flight dynamics of aerial vehicles designed for Mars. Her work contributes to the development of helicopters for planetary missions, an area that presents complex engineering challenges due to the thin Martian atmosphere.
Prior to her role at NASA, Ågren gained experience at the European Space Agency’s Advanced Concepts Team, the Swedish Space Corporation, and OHB Sweden. At ESA, she worked on neural network approximations for linear algebra operations, exploring the intersection of mathematics and artificial intelligence in aerospace contexts.
Outside of her professional work, she enjoys running, sailing, and kickboxing, and has expressed a particular interest in specialty coffee. In 2024, she was invited to speak at Women in Tech Sweden, where she discussed her career in aerospace and the future of Mars exploration.
