About Tayla-Paige Billington
Tayla-Paige Billington is a distinguished Australian racewalker, born on March 31, 1997. She has represented Australia in various national and international competitions, showcasing her talent and dedication to the sport.
Growing up in Sydney, Tayla joined the Manly Warringah Athletics Centre, where she excelled in junior competitions, securing multiple New South Wales Little Athletics titles.
Her early promise was evident when, at just 11 years old, she competed in the Australian Roadwalk Championships, achieving impressive results across multiple events over a single weekend. Despite facing challenges such as Osgood-Schlatter syndrome during her adolescence, which sidelined her for a period, Billington demonstrated resilience by returning to competition and achieving notable performances.
Throughout her career, Tayla has achieved significant milestones:
β’ 2014: Placed 18th in the 10,000m walk at the World Junior Championships in Eugene, USA.
β’ 2016: Secured 14th place in the U20 10km walk at the IAAF World Race Walking Team Championships in Rome and 19th in the 10,000m walk at the World U20 Championships in Bydgoszcz, Poland.
β’ 2024: Achieved a personal best in the 20km race walk with a time of 1:36:27 at an event in February.
In addition to her racewalking accomplishments, Billington has also competed in the 3000m steeplechase, winning the event at the Queensland Athletic Association State Championships.
