About Star Stowe
Star Stowe (born Ellen Louise Stowe; March 19, 1956, Little Rock, Arkansas – March 16, 1997, Coral Springs, Florida) was an American model. She was Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month for its February 1977 issue. Her centerfold was photographed by Pompeo Posar.
Stowe at one time dated Gene Simmons. Stowe later married and divorced Peter Magligo, with whom she had a son, Michael. Stowe moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1986 to find work as an exotic dancer. When Michael was six she sent him to live with her mother but still stayed in touch with him through phone calls and visits.The dancing didn't work out. Stowe eventually fell into prostitution, alcoholism and drug abuse.
In 1991, Stowe moved in with a boyfriend and gave up drugs and prostitution. This lasted until August 1996, when after a drunken argument they split. Stowe went back to her former life on the streets.
Her body was found strangled and partially clothed, 3 days before her 41st birthday. Since several other prostitutes in the area had been strangled and dumped in a similar manner, Stowe's murder is believed to be the work of a possible serial killer in southwest Florida. Her murder remains unsolved.

How can any of you pass judgement this was a young woman 20 years old and caught up in a very adult life style as many of us has been and in many ways dismissed and thrown to the side the only crime besides her murder is the way nobody even tried to help her also like so many others it's another sad day in America

nothing mysterious about it. She was a prostitute in the 80s,sent her son to live with granny. Was a drug addict and alcoholic too. In 1991 dropped prostitution and drugs,but not the booze,when moved in with a bf. In August 1996 had a fight when drunk with him,split and went back to being a prostitute,got strangled and dropped into bushes alongside other prostitutes in the ares before and after her by a serial killer.

There is plenty about her life and biography online for anyone who bothers to google her life story. Being lazy and not bothering to even do a quick check on her biography is embarrassing. Even wikipedia(which gives sources also) mentions it. Boomers like you just have no clue,even all these decades later,about famous life stories. You call yourself a playboy afficionado?
