About Sharla McBride
Sharla McBride is an Emmy Award-winning journalist and prominent news anchor currently co-hosting Wake Up America on Newsmax. Originally from Austin, Texas, she graduated from the University of Georgia with a degree in International Affairs and Foreign Policy.
McBride is widely recognized for her versatile career, spending over 12 years at WNEP in Pennsylvania as both a sports and evening news anchor before moving to WUSA in Washington, D.C. In October 2023, she joined Newsmax in New York City, where she has become a leading voice in morning news. Beyond journalism, she notably made a cameo appearance in the HBO hit series Succession.
She is married to Todd Hiller (married in 2013), and they have one daughter. Known for her "straight-talk" delivery and polished screen presence, Sharla has built a massive following as one of the most respected faces in conservative media.
