Sara Bues is an American actress and theater performer, best known for her role as Assistant State’s Attorney Nina Chapman on NBC’s police drama Chicago P.D. She joined the series in Season 9 and has appeared in multiple episodes through Season 12, portraying a determined and complex legal figure working alongside the Intelligence Unit.

Born on August 1, 1985, in Brooklyn, New York, Bues developed a passion for the performing arts early in life. She earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Syracuse University and further honed her acting skills at Acting Studio Chicago.

Her early television work includes guest roles on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, where she played Bethany Fisher in a Season 20 episode, and on CBS’s FBI as Gayle Dixon in Season 2. ​

Beyond television, Bues has appeared in short films such as Cassandra (2019) and One in a Series (2010) and played in the Showtime series City on a Hill as Tess Freda. She is also active in theater and supports charitable causes, including the American Cancer Society and The Trevor Project.
