About Roisin Gallagher
Róisín Gallagher is a Northern Irish actress and playwright born in Andersonstown, a working-class Catholic suburb of west Belfast. She trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama (now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland) and began her career in theatre, performing in productions across Scotland, England, and at Belfast's Lyric Theatre.
Gallagher gained wider recognition on television with her lead role as Shiv Sheridan in the Irish comedy-drama series The Dry (2022–), earning IFTA nominations. She starred opposite Johnny Flynn in the Sky Atlantic romantic comedy The Lovers (2023), a performance that brought her a BAFTA Television Award nomination. Her other notable credits include the Netflix dark comedy-crime series How to Get to Heaven from Belfast (2026), in which she plays Saoirse.
