Reynolds is the second youngest Playmate at 16, and was 10 months older than the youngest Elizabeth Ann Roberts ( 16 years and 5 months upon publication). Reynolds pictorial would not be published until she was 17 years and 3 months old.

In January 1966, aged 17, she was subpoenaed by a Federal grand jury investigating the crime syndicate in Chicago. Also subpoenaed were reputed underworld figures Fiori (Fifi) Buccieri, 59, and Charles (Chuckie) English, 52. Despite only being 17 at the time, Reynolds was identified by Federal authorities as a lover of Frank (the Horse) Buccieri, 52, the brother of Fiori.
