Paola Durante Ochoa is a Uruguayan-Mexican television host, model and actress. She was born on April 17, 1975, in Montevideo, Uruguay. She emigrated to Mexico as a child and is a cousin of actress Bárbara Mori.
She began her career in entertainment as a cheerleader for the baseball team Tigres. In the late 1990s, she auditioned for Paco Stanley's program after his move from Televisa to TV Azteca, joining the group of edecanes on the show Una tras otra in December 1998.
On June 7, 1999, Stanley was murdered outside a restaurant in southern Mexico City. Durante became implicated in the case, identified by the press as "la güera" and subjected to intense public scrutiny. She spent approximately one year and four months in prison before being released in 2001 due to lack of concrete evidence. In 2021, she was formally absolved of all criminal charges related to the case.
Following her release, Durante worked to rebuild her career, facing significant social and professional stigma. She has worked as a model, actress, television host and singer. In 2019, she published her autobiographical book No es color de rosa. In 2024, she participated as a contestant on the reality show La Casa de los Famosos México and announced her retirement from television.
