Monroe was born in Houston, Texas and grew up in Cleveland, Ohio. As a high school student, she worked as a babysitter and later at Abercrombie & Fitch. In college, she attended Cleveland State University, where she graduated with honors with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry and a minor in Biology. After college, Monroe pursued a modeling career. In 2015, Monroe began to date John Gray, the CEO of Spearmint Rhino Gentlemen's Clubs. Monroe soon later began to pose for various foreign editions of Playboy. In the late 2010s, Monroe attended the Chapman University School of Law in Orange, California. In December 2019, Monroe was admitted to the state bar of California.
