About Milly Alcock
Milly Alcock is an Australian actress.
She received an AACTA Award nomination for her performance in the Foxtel comedy-drama Upright (2019–2022).
She gained wider recognition for starring as young Rhaenyra Targaryen in the HBO fantasy series House of the Dragon (2022–2024), for which she was nominated for a Critics' Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series.
In January 2024, it was announced that Alcock had been cast to play Kara Zor-El / Supergirl in the DC Universe film Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow (2026).
She will star alongside Julianne Moore and Meghann Fahy in the Netflix dark comedy limited series Sirens.
Prior to being cast in House of the Dragon, Alcock lived with her family in Sydney and took on side jobs.
She then moved to London, first staying in Primrose Hill, later moving to an East London flat.
As of December 2023, she has amassed 1.4 million followers on her Instagram platform.

Oh boy, what a disaster!
It's even worse than I thought...
Supergirl's opening weekend was even lower than The Marvels (which is the lowest MCU opening & also lost hundreds of millions for its studio)
Turns out the production budget is also higher than first reported ($185 Million) which means (after accounting for things like marketing) total losses will likely be close to $300 Million!
To be fair to Milly, many aspects that were out of her control also contributed to the failure (script, marketing etc) but her conduct certainly didn't help.
I hope she learns from this. She's young and I'd like to give her grace. Hopefully this is a wake-up call for her.

It honestly wasn't that bad of a film. She did a wonderful job. This isn't a repeat of Snow White. In that, Rachel Zegler was awful and she ran her mouth constantly. Alcock said a few, true by the way, things and she was crucified for it.

Obviously, people will have varying opinions on any movie but the objective facts are that it's going to lose hundreds of millions for the studio & that won't exactly help her career.
I'd agree Zegler was worse. The issue is being an actress in a major motion picture means you need to be careful about what you say publicly.
Even if something is true that doesn't mean you should say it, especially when you're at work or doing an interview promoting a movie.
People who work minimum wage customer service jobs understand this; why can't a millionaire hollywood celebrity?
For instance, she might say she'd never date a guy who watches superhero movies or reads comic books. Even if that's true, is it wise for her to say that publicly when she's trying to sell a superhero movie?

So, I'm curious where you got the information about what she said about not dating a comic book fan? On reading your comment, I went looking for the specific interview to see if it was taken out of context. As the media is so apt to do these days.
It appears she never said this. This was a widely reported rumor. She did say that Kara was a "queer icon". She also stated it was hard for a woman to exist in a franchise. She said that men had a weird ownership women's bodies. And the fact this website exists sort of proves her point. Having a false quote attributed to her further proves her point. Now, whether she should have said it or not, that's another issue. I am simply stating the movie wasn't bad. She did a good job. Those two issues right there make it different than the Snow White/Rachel Zegler issue.

Oh, the 'not dating a comic fan' was just an example I thought of to illustrate my main point which is just cause something is true doesn't mean its a good idea to say it.
Yeah, I'm no fan of witch hunts either tbh. That's why PR is such a big industry and celebs get media training.
For better or for worse, perception is reality.
I don't think this website proves her point. Like, there are tons of mainly female communities that obsess over male celebrities and make erotic fan fics and stuff.
Male superhero actors get criticized all the time for attitude, not looking the part, their body not being buff enough etc.
I think its just a natural consequence of a large group of people being passionate about something, especially when they can be anonymous online.
Every kind of public figure in every industry has their fair share of trolls.
Her turning it into a gender thing made it unnecessarily divisive.
