About Michaela Tabb
Michaela Tabb is a retired Scottish snooker and pool referee who famously broke gender barriers to become the most high-profile female official in cue sports. Dubbed the "Queen of the Baize," she is universally credited with transforming the public image and rising prominence of female referees.
In the 1990s and early 2000s, she competed prominently on the womenβs eight-ball pool circuit, winning multiple national and international solo titles, including the U.K. Women's Singles Championship in 1997. Tabb transitioned to refereeing in 1997, initially working high-profile pool tournaments like the Mosconi Cup and the WPA World Nine-ball Championship.
Away from the main tour, she continued to referee on the Snooker Legends tour, pool tournaments, and the Seniors circuit. She also became a successful entrepreneur, co-founding a bespoke cue sports table and accessory company called On Cue World (formerly Blackball Tables) alongside her family.
