About Meghann Kruger
Meghann is a Berlin-based professional firefighter (Berufsfeuerwehrfrau) with the Berlin Fire Department (Berliner Feuerwehr), specifically at Feuerwache Prenzlauer Berg. She wanted to join the fire department since she was a small child, and joined the youth fire service (Jugendfeuerwehr) in Kladow, Berlin, at age 10. After school, she trained as an emergency medical technician (Notfallsanitäterin) before becoming a professional firefighter.
Meghann is also a highly successful competitive athlete in FireFit / Firefighter Combat Challenge events, which are extremely demanding firefighter fitness competitions involving full gear, breathing apparatus, hose handling, tower climbs, dummy drags, and more.
She has won multiple European championships (Europameisterin), including in the Ü30 (over 30) category, and has set German records. She competes both individually and in team/tandem events, often as part of strong German teams like Team HAIX. She is known for her strength, endurance, and long-term involvement in the sport, having participated in major international events (e.g., in Hungary, Germany).
She has been featured in German media, podcasts, and fire service publications as an example of a tough, dedicated female firefighter and athlete.
