About Margarita Magana
Margarita Magaña (full name: Margarita Magaña Amillategui) is a Mexican actress born on July 25, 1979, in Mexico City (some sources cite Huatabampo, Sonora). She has been active in the entertainment industry since 1995 and is best known for her roles in Mexican telenovelas.
Magaña landed her first major role in 1998 with the film La primera noche. She gained widespread recognition for her performances in telenovelas such as Al diablo con los guapos (2007) as Karla Arango, Un gancho al corazón (2008) as Estrella Falcón, and particularly as Aída Cáceres Azuela in the hit telenovela Teresa (2010-2011), where she played one of the main antagonists. Other notable telenovela credits include Lo que la vida me robó (2013), María la del barrio, La verdad oculta (2006), Tu vida es mi vida (2024) as Zayda Álvarez Lujan, and Vencer el miedo (2020) as Magdalena "Magda."
After her success in Lo que la vida me robó in 2014, Magaña decided to reduce her television work to focus more on her family. She developed a cosmetics line and became a social media influencer. Her most recent television appearance was in Por amar sin ley (2018), where she acted alongside Ana Brenda Contreras and David Zepeda, playing Lorenza Ceballos.
She currently resides in Mérida, Yucatán, Mexico. In recent years, she has remained active on social media platforms, particularly TikTok and Instagram, where she shares entertaining dance videos and lifestyle content with her fans.
Her most recent work includes the telenovela Hermanas, un amor compartido (2026), where she plays Dolores Cancino de Olmos.
