About Manami Suzuki
Profile and Career
Manami Suzuki (born September 9, 1977) is a Tokyo-born entrepreneur and former adult film (AV) actress, stripper, and race queen. Standing 162cm tall with measurements of B82 (B-cup), W58, and H84, she is known for her slender physique and Type O blood.
The "AV Queen" Phenomenon
Before entering the adult industry, Manami Suzuki garnered significant attention as a prominent race queen and was even selected as an F1 Image Girl. Following her debut as a stripper in December 1997, she made her AV debut in March 1998 at the age of 20 with the studio Uchuu Kikaku. Her entry into the industry was unprecedented; she became the first actress to simultaneously sign exclusive contracts with five major manufacturers (Uchuu Kikaku, KUKI, MAX-A, Atlas 21, and Alice JAPAN). This "pentagon" of exclusivity created an immediate sensation. By the end of 1998, she dominated the sales charts, taking the 1 spot for both Uchuu Kikaku and Alice JAPAN, and 2 for MAX-A. These achievements cemented her status as a "Legendary AV Actress."
Style and Versatility
Manami Suzuki’s transition from the glamorous world of racing to adult films sparked a media frenzy and was a frequent topic in weekly tabloids. Fans were drawn to her refined, mature beauty and the striking contrast between her elegant appearance and her intense, passionate performances. Over her 14-year career, she appeared in approximately 180 films.
Beyond film, she was a versatile entertainer:
Stage: She performed at premier strip clubs nationwide, including Asakusa Rock-za, bridging the gap between race queen and AV star.
Media: She won the Weekly Playboy Newcomer Award for gravure modeling and was photographed by the renowned Kishin Shinoyama.
Music & TV: She was an original member of the SkyPerfecTV! group "Cherry Bombers," released a CD of original lyrics in 2000, and began distributing music on iTunes in 2006. She also ventured into mainstream acting with a guest role in the drama Tokumei Kacho Tadano Jin.
Retirement and Business Ventures
Manami Suzuki initially retired in December 2006. After a four-year hiatus, she resurfaced at an AV-themed cabaret club before making a brief comeback to the screen in 2011 with Attackers, focusing on dramatic and hardcore roles. By the spring of 2015, she effectively stepped away from the industry to focus on her career as a businesswoman. Today, she maintains a private life with fewer media appearances.
Personal Life
Manami Suzuki has been candid about her difficult upbringing, including the loss of both her biological father and her stepfather to illness during her youth. A woman of varied interests, she enjoys jazz dance, traveling, and cooking, and is notably skilled in French.
