About Ma Chia-Ling
Ma Chia-Ling (馬嘉伶) is a Taiwanese-born J-pop idol best known as a former member of AKB48. A longtime fan of the group since middle school, she successfully passed the AKB48 Taiwan Audition and made her debut on December 15, 2015, during AKB48 Kouhaku Utagassen 2015.
She is notable for being the first Taiwanese member of AKB48 and the first Taiwanese member of any Japan-based AKB48 Group. She also holds the distinction of being promoted to full member after only 68 days, making her one of the fastest-promoted members in the group's history.
Her hobbies include making sweets and studying Japanese, interests that helped her adapt to life and activities in Japan. She became known among fans for her catchphrase “ottamage,” which originated from her appearances on AKBINGO!.
Following her graduation from AKB48, she changed her stage name from her birth name, 馬嘉伶, to 真楪伶. Although the pronunciation and romanization remained the same, the new name was chosen to symbolize the beginning of a new chapter in her career.
