Lydia Bielen is an American model, actress, writer and social-media personality from Georgia. Born on October 5, 1999, she grew up in a small town with her mother, two sisters and grandparents, and has described herself as artistic from an early age, with interests in horseback riding, painting, reading and poetry. Her route into modeling was almost accidental: while working as a teenage waitress, she was approached by a modeling agent who left her a business card and encouraged her to pursue the profession.

Bielen began modeling professionally in her late teens and soon found herself traveling far beyond the small-town Georgia world in which she had grown up. By 20 she had lived or worked in Los Angeles, Miami, Sydney and New York, and over the next several years traveled extensively for shoots and agency work. She has said that modeling gave her an education of its own, exposing her to different countries, people and creative scenes while also forcing her to become comfortable with independence and life on the road.

Her look helped her move between commercial fashion, editorial modeling and sexier glamour work. Bielen is 5'7" with green eyes and has been represented by agencies including Elite, MiLK, Louisa Models, Talent Model Management and State Management. Her editorial résumé has included Harper's Bazaar, L'Officiel Italia, Grazia, FHM Sweden and other international fashion publications. Harper's Bazaar Vietnam singled out her unusually vivid green eyes and described her beauty as having both an innocent, dreamy quality and a wilder sensual side.

Unlike many models whose public image is built almost entirely around fashion, Bielen has consistently emphasized writing, spirituality and art. She began writing poetry as a teenager, has discussed plans for both a poetry collection and a novel, and has named painting, philosophy, meditation, tarot, crystals and reiki among her interests. In 2020 she described herself as deeply interested in self-improvement and spirituality, interests that later became an even larger part of her public persona.

Social media became an important extension of her modeling career. Bielen has used Instagram not only for editorial and campaign work but also to show travel, friends, family and pieces of her everyday life. She has said she prefers not to manufacture a rigid online persona and instead tries to project positive energy. Her following eventually grew into the hundreds of thousands, giving her a substantial audience independent of traditional agencies and magazines.

Photographed by Ashley Olah, the feature presented Bielen less as a conventional bombshell than as a self-described “flower child,” drawing on her love of the Grateful Dead, nature, meditation and spirituality. Playboy also highlighted an unusual chapter of her life in which she stayed in a mud hut in the Himalayas while studying shamatha and vipassana meditation. Bielen described modeling as a creative outlet that allows her to express herself through fashion while collaborating with photographers, stylists and other artists.

The contrast is a large part of her appeal: Bielen can move from polished high-fashion editorials to intimate glamour photography without losing the free-spirited personality she has cultivated outside modeling. Her Playboy feature leaned into that mix, pairing her fashion background and striking green-eyed beauty with the more unconventional image of a tarot-reading, meditation-practicing model who would rather be hiking, surfing or dancing barefoot at a music festival than playing the stereotypical centerfold.
