About Linda Lovelace
Linda Lovelace, born Linda Susan Boreman on January 10, 1949, in the Bronx, New York, had a life that was marked by both notoriety and tragedy. Raised in a working-class family, her upbringing was steeped in religious values, leading to her high school nickname, "Miss Holy Holy." However, her life took a drastic turn when she moved to Florida at age 20 to recover from a car accident, where she met Chuck Traynor. Their tumultuous relationship would become infamous, marked by allegations of physical and psychological abuse, resulting in her coerced involvement in the adult film industry.
Lovelace's early career in pornography was fraught with exploitation and manipulation. Under Traynor's control, she participated in numerous low-budget adult films, often enduring degrading and extreme scenarios. Notably, she was cast in the 1972 groundbreaking film "Deep Throat," which became a cultural phenomenon, grossing over $600 million on a mere $22,000 budget. Despite its success, Lovelace claimed she was forced into the role and received only a fraction of the financial rewards, cementing her status as a tragic figure entangled in the darker aspects of the industry she was thrust into.
Following her escape from Traynor in 1974, Lovelace sought to reestablish her life, marrying Larry Marchiano in 1976 and moving to Denver for a quieter existence. Yet, the scars of her past remained. In the 1980s, she transformed her narrative from one of exploitation to advocacy, aligning herself with feminists like Gloria Steinem and Andrea Dworkin. Through her memoirs, such as "Ordeal" and "Out of Bondage," she illuminated the coercion and abuse prevalent in the porn industry, making significant contributions to discussions around women's rights and the exploitation of female performers.
Lovelace's plea against pornography gained traction not just as a personal testament but also as a broader commentary on the industry's impact on women. Her writings were influential, providing insight into her experiences and advocating for awareness surrounding the dangers faced by women in similar situations. As she navigated her second marriage and family life, Lovelace strived to redefine her identity beyond her past in adult films, illustrating the complexity of her journey and her transformation from a controversial figure to a respected advocate.
Tragically, Linda Lovelace's life came to an abrupt end on April 22, 2002, following a severe automobile accident. She succumbed to injuries at the age of 53, surrounded by her family. Lovelace's story remains a poignant chapter in both adult film history and feminist discourse, embodying the struggles against exploitation and the quest for understanding and empowerment. Her legacy is one of resilience—a cautionary tale of the costs of fame, the fight for agency, and the journey toward reclaiming one's voice.

An amazingly awesome beautiful woman. However I could never watch any of her movies. I have issues with people who are supposed to love you forcing you to things like porn. Knowing what her husband did how can anyone enjoy this.

Linda Lovelace was the poster girl for the genre called "Porno Chic" in 1972. The film Deep Throat was screened in mainstream theaters across the United States and perhaps the world. By "mainstream," I mean like "The Paramount" or "The Fox" or whatever. Any large city in the U.S. had a major theater screening Deep Throat. Hell, I took my wife to see it! Everyone (more or less) did! Say what you may, it was a pretty good movie for it's time and has been widely distributed in very poor quality reproductions ever since the VCR became a common household appliance. Dolly Sharp (the Nurse) had an amazing natural rack which featured prominently in the movie as "Doctor Reems" would often fuck her in doggie as he dictated case notes on Linda's sexual "problem."
