Lauren Ridloff is an acclaimed deaf American actress and advocate best known for her groundbreaking roles as Makkari in the Marvel Cinematic Universe film Eternals (where she made history as Marvel's first deaf superhero) and as Connie on AMC’s hit television series The Walking Dead.
Before finding mainstream success as an actress in her late 30s, she spent nearly a decade working as a public school teacher in New York City and was crowned Miss Deaf America (2000–2002).
