About Lauren Drain

Lauren Danielle Drain is an American fitness model, personal trainer, author and nurse. She was a member of the Westboro Baptist Church and one of its few members not related to the Phelps family.

Lauren's father Steve Drain was an atheist when he decided to film a documentary critical of the church. Eventually he became a fervent believer and his entire family joined him into the church. Lauren was a member of WBC from 2001-2008 when she was excommunicated shortly before her 22nd birthday for questioning the church's doctrine. She has not spoken to any members of her family since then.

Drain worked as a nurse for nine years before deciding to pursue fitness modelling and working as a personal trainer. She also works to help other former WBC members get back on their feet after leaving the church.

As of March 2020, Lauren has amassed over 3.9 million Instagram followers.
