Brazil's Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) has requested the opening of an investigation into 35-year-old Henrique Cassorielo for international drug trafficking. He was the boyfriend of blogger Laís Crisóstomo Aguiar, 28, who was caught with cocaine while about to board a flight to Dubai at Guarulhos Airport in São Paulo.
Laís was sentenced to two years and eleven months of imprisonment this Wednesday, but the court commuted the sentence to the performance of community service or service to public entities. Peterson de Sousa Fontes, 45, is a friend of Cassorielo and was set to travel with the blogger; he was also sentenced by the 1st Federal Court of Guarulhos.
During the proceedings, Laís and Fontes identified Cassorielo as the owner of the drugs. He lives in Dubai and was awaiting the pair's arrival with the narcotics. According to the Federal Police, there were 461 grams of cocaine in her suitcase.
