The Laila Khan Case
The Victim: Laila Khan (also known as Reshma Patel) starred in the 2008 film Wafa: A Deadly Love Story alongside Rajesh Khanna.
The Incident: In February 2011, Laila Khan vanished from Mumbai alongside her mother, three siblings, and a cousin.
The Resolution: In 2012, police discovered six skeletons buried at her family's farmhouse in Igatpuri. Her stepfather, Parvez Tak, confessed to murdering the entire family using iron rods and burying them over a property dispute. In 2024, a Mumbai court convicted him and sentenced him to death in a "rarest of rare" case.
